Donna Rae Scheuermann was born on February 3,1945 in Jefferson. She was one of three children born to Roy and Wilma Scheuermann.
Donna Rae attended school at a Catholic parochial school in Grand Junction. She was a pioneer student; in the early 1950s she was one of the first students to be mainstreamed into the classroom.
At home on the family farm, she accompanied her father into the fields and enjoyed cows and other farm animals. She loved riding a bicycle and was a great playmate to her three nieces and a nephew. She enjoyed singing old songs and Christmas Eve services at the Cooper Methodist Church.
Donna moved away from her family home into New Hope Village at Carroll, where she made friends. Donna frequently traveled with her sister Linda Schaffer and sister-in-law, (late) Martha Scheuermann on several sister trips.
In 2018 Donna moved from Iowa to St. Cloud, MN, and later resided at Foster 5 in Sauk Rapids, MN, where she made friends. Especially important to her was her friend Mary and all the staff at Foster 5. Late in Donna’s life she enjoyed Vikings football games, rides in the van, beer, the family dogs, and babies. Despite the challenges she saw in life, Donna was loving, kind and unapologetically genuine.
